[Babytron] Shuts Down Lincoln Hall with Recent Show

Babytron is back in Chicago for the first time in 2023 on his sold out Bin Reaper tour! After waiting nearly 3 weeks I was back in the presents of Detroits own Shittyboyz, and man was this truly a unique experience.

With the doors opening at 7pm, Tron had the sold out line fully wrapped around the venue by 5pm! Most of the same openers as Washington, Prince Jefe, Dog Shit Militia, with special guest Certified Trapper! Certified Trapper’s energy was unmatched and something I had never seen before, hard hitting beats with lyrics I could barely understand because every other second he’s hitting a crazy dance mood or flopping on the ground like a fish, it was truly a you had to be there to experience it moment. At the end of his performance whoever he had on stage with him did the dumbest thing ever and took a whole water bottle and failed to throw it on the crowd only damaging the speaker in front of him. 

With the clock just barely hitting 9pm RJ announces that it’s the time of the night to start chanting “BABYTRON!” within one minute Tron runs out, lights his backwood and starts off the show. Little did we the audience know that it would be the shortest babytron show of the tour, Tron plays his song ‘MySpace’ and it went crazy. I brought my Blu-ray copy of Goodfellas for him to sign because in the song he has line “feeling like mob, goodfellas I’m Robert De Niro.” Sadly he did not sign before the end of the night. Sometime during the song after MySpace someone who worked for the venue came on stage and took another speaker leaving only 1 “working.”

By the 5th song of the night Lincoln Hall had announced the show was canceled and we had to leave. At the moment of cancellation I could only assume they canceled the show because the speakers were damaged and they couldn’t get a good sound, but that’s only half of the problem. A nice dude sent me video on Instagram of a fight that took place right before the cancellation of the show. One of Tron’s posse got into a fight, got jumped, robbed and possibly chain snatched.
